MAENHOUT DEWINTER
Maenhout is a modern pig farm equipped with a digester, hygienization unit, and separator. The company was looking for a way to reduce the ammonia content in the liquid fraction of the manure. Detricon provided a nitrogen stripper, which recovers the ammoniacal nitrogen and converts it into fertilizers (ammonium sulfate) for local use. The resulting low-ammonia effluent can then be spread on the land.
